The RCHN Community Health Foundation (RCHN CHF) and CySolutions, Inc. today announced that CySolutions has acquired Chorus, a health care information technology firm that provides integrated software solutions and services for community health centers (CHCs). RCHN CHF is a New York-based not-for-profit operating foundation focused on serving CHCs. CySolutions is a leader in the development and support of custom software enhancement for community health centers and other providers.
"RCHN Community Health Foundation is committed to supporting and benefiting health centers nationally. CySolutions is focused on providing effective health care information technology solutions to the community health center market," said Julio Bellber, president and CEO of RCHN CHF. "The acquisition of Chorus by CySolutions will ensure the companys success in the marketplace and is in the best interest of Chorus customers."
After obtaining an initial interest in Chorus (formerly MDSERVE) with health center partners in 2001, RCHN CHF grew the company and in 2008 became the sole owner.
"We are impressed with the depth and breadth of Chorus' offering to the health center market, and excited about the opportunity to work with Chorus' clients," said Bill Young, President and CEO of CySolutions. "The company will remain committed to helping CHCs implement affordable and appropriate HIT."
Bill Young will continue to serve as CySolutions' CEO and will also serve as the interim CEO of Chorus and Chairman of the Board. A.J. Schreiber, the outgoing Chorus president and CEO will remain as a consultant to Chorus during the initial months of the transition. The Foundation will provide advisory services to Chorus and CySolutions during a transition period following the acquisition.
"CySolutions delivers products and services that complement those now offered by Chorus," said Schreiber. "This will provide an opportunity for CHCs to take advantage of new applications and services while getting continued support for current offerings."
